We only use the finest quality 330gsm, cotton canvas to make our photo to canvas prints. This artist grade canvas ensures colour longevity, prevents cracking and is specifically designed to lock in the ink from our 9880 range of printers. Unfortunately, many canvas manufacturers use low grade 200gsm polyester canvas (usually imported from China). This canvas is actually yellow but is later bleached white. This bleach degrades the inks and can cause discolouration of your artwork in as little as 8 weeks.
The quality of the canvas that is used has a lot to do with the quality of your finished print. Poor quality canvas will crack on the surface while mounting, ruining your artwork. We thrive on our customers’ satisfaction and we have earned a rich reputation by providing only the best to our customers. We have worked hard to earn our reputation and we would never risk losing it by using cheaper, sub-standard canvas. Only the best will do!

Our canvas prints are printed using the Epson 9880 range of large format printers. The 9880 is the most advanced large format colour and black & white printer in the market today. These printers set new standards for large format photographic and fine art printing. Printing at high resolution they make a big impression with lasting results in both black and white and vibrant colour. The 8-colour ink set system (which includes three black inks for increased definition on black and white prints) means that every tone is captured perfectly/
The technical stuff. The 9880 features a permanent Micro Piezo print head, Variable-sized Droplet Technology and Epson's 3.5pl Ultra Micro Dot for superior detail. These machines produce perfectly neutral grey scale prints, wide colour gamut and smooth tones.

The type of frame used to make your canvas is very important as it directly affects the lifespan of your print. We use only the finest European shaped pine stretcher bars to build our frames. This frames are machined to a high standard and contain no knots or splits. These stretcher bars have a smooth lip which raises the canvas slightly to avoid creating indented marks on the front of your canvas caused by the pressure of the frame behind it. We do not use solid, braced together wood or cheap fir stretcher bars (often made in China, known in the trade as “Art98” bars) as these are poorly made and do not last. Our stretcher bars also have machined slots on the inside of the frame to allow us to insert 4 wooden tension wedges into the inside corners of the frame. These wedges are used to tighten your canvas further and allow it to be re-tightened over time. Beware of companies that use plastic tension wedges as they do not stay in place, forcing many companies to glue them in. This means your canvas can never be re-tightened! Most canvas companies use either the brace method or “Art98” bars to cut costs. This gives their prints a limited lifespan Only high quality frames guarantee that your print will have a long life and will look great.

We apply 3 layers of protective coating to all of our photo to canvas prints at no extra charge. The varnish we use has been developed specifically to
protect, preserve and enhance fine canvas art It is a water-based varnish that enhances the colour of pigmented
inks on matte media and increases resistance to UV light that causes
image fading. It will also protect your print against
moisture and abrasion.
Many canvas prints are now sold on the internet without such coatings applied. These untreated canvases will crack at the corners and will fade dramatically over time.
