Transferring your photos onto canvas - How is it done? What is the process?
Using your favourite, treasured family photographs to ornate the
walls of your home is an old concept, yet transferring your photos
onto canvas, (thanks to the mainstream introduction of digital
photography) is a fairly new one.
Photo to canvas transfers look spectacular compared to other older
methods of displaying photos and over the last few years the canvas
print has gradually taken the place of large scale framed photographs
as an effective and contemporary way to display your favourite images.
How do you transfer photos onto canvas?
The photo to canvas order process can be done in one of two
ways. The first is by uploading a digital photograph via our website
which will be assessed and edited, before sending you a preview of how
your finished canvas will look. The second method is to post us a
normal paper photograph which will be assessed, scanned and edited
before being printed onto canvas.
Photos printed onto canvas have a unique look and feel and canvas
is very durable and long lasting. A canvas print, given a coating of
U.V lacquer, can last for up to 75 years without fading.
As well as transferring photos onto canvas, you can also find
fantastic predesigned art prints on canvas (also known as giclee
prints) which can be anything from modern iconic images through to
fine art prints and digital art which is printed onto canvas.
Most commonly, family photographs or family portraits are the
preferred source image used when making a canvas photo display. But
if you are looking for something a little different then you can also
get pop art canvas prints. Modern pop art designs printed onto canvas
can be a very effective addition to your home, especially homes with
a modern feel and contemporary decor.

Black and white? Sepia? Or maybe a colour tint? These are all
options (as well as other special effects) that can be added to your
image before printing your photo onto canvas to make it that extra
bit special.
Once you have chosen your picture, specified the size of the
canvas you would like and selected your extras, the next step is to
select your border options. The border options refer to the
options available for the sides of your canvas print. This choice
very much depends on the image in question and more information and
