Many companies in the market today promise to make photo on canvas prints
 to your own exact specifications.
This is a common sign that the company in
question is producing
their own canvas frames in-house. In most cases, these
cheap, solid wood frames
are made using cheap materials for the sole purpose
of cutting costs. Canvas stretcher bars are only available in increments of 2".

So what if I have
a specific size in mind?...

No problem. Most sizes are catered for in
the range of canvas stretcher bars
available, but if your image cannot
be matched exactly to a specific size,
there are many minor alterations that
can be made to perfectly fit your image
to the nearest available canvas
size. Don't worry, if you have any concerns
regarding sizing, we will work with you until you are 100% happy. Please

Bought in bulk, the cheap fir wood used to create canvas frames
in-house is prone to warping and the finished frames do not have
any of the built in features that are present in professionally made
canvas stretcher bars. These features include:

Anti-warping measures. Professionally made stretcher bars are
made from strong, sustainably sourced, European pine wood and
are highly resistant to warping.

Extra strength. Unlike frames created in-house (often joined with
staples and glue, Canvas stretcher bars are machined in such a
way that the frames neatly interlock with each other, further
strengthening the canvas against warping and allowing the
canvas frame to be stretched further over time (if necessary).

Low friction edges. Canvas stretcher bars have machined, rounded edges
that sit against the back of the canvas preventing the canvas from ripping
or splitting as a result of tension between the canvas and the sharp edges
usually found on a standard solid wood frame.

Stretching wedges. As the temperature in the room changes, the canvas
material changes with it, shrinking and expanding depending on the
temperature. This causes the canvas to sag on the frame. With a
fixed canvas frame, this sagging is permanent. These stretching wedges
(or pegs), are inserted into machined grooves in the inner four corners of
the frame, allowing your photo on canvas to be re-stretched over time.
This ability to adjust the tension of your canvas is vital to the life span
of your print and enables you to keep your canvas looking great for many
years to come.
